Description

Still working without references I tried to capture the look the human side of Jesus must have had at his friend's betrayal.
Main goal was to leave all the paint strokes showing instead of blending which is very new for me.

This was very quickly done in order to keep myself from blending. Took a couple of hours.

Someday I would like to paint the whole scene, including the Betrayer.

Free-hand. Painter 8 and pen.

Thank you.

You have captured a lot of emotion in this one. The image is rather dark, but I wouldn´t call that a flaw. Real nice piece. :)

As a young child i was horrified by the story of judas, i figured Jeesus not only knew Judas would "betray" him but also forced him to it with this pre-determination-thingy to add to his martyrdom, and damned him to hell afterwards. I wanted to quit religiousclass that same day. Now after being totally disillusioned by christianity and all religion, and seeing Jeesus only as man and a philosopher, i understand that he truly must have been shocked and broken.

So, anyway....although it's a bit kitchy for my tastes, it's still very well done! 6+

i love it. i'm not religious at all, but what you've done here is fantastic. +7/7. i love the effect of not blending, it really worked here.
